Welcome
The 2nd European Polio Conference in Amsterdam from 25-27 June 2014 welcomes you to participate.
Her Royal Highness Princes Beatrix will attend the 2nd European Polio Conference
With pride we can inform you that Princes Beatrix will attend the Conference. Princes Beatrix is the patroness of the Prinses Beatrix Muscle Fund which was founded in 1956 during the last large polio epidemic in the Netherlands. Nowadays the Prinses Beatrix Muscle Fund supportscare and research for a wide range of neuromuscular disorders.
Registration still open at reduced rates
You can still register for the 2nd European Polio Conference: Post-Polio Syndrome – A Condition Without Boundaries, 25-27 June 2014, Amsterdam, The Netherlands. To celebrate the attendance of Princes Beatrix we have decided not to raise the fees until June 16
Accreditation
The program has been accredited by the Dutch Societies for Neurology (NVN), Rehabilitation Medicine (VRA), Orthopaedic Surgery (NOV) and Tropical and International Health (NVTG). European accreditation by the UEMS is pending.
Bring your colleagues
The conference is relevant for all medical specialties involved in care for polio patients including physical and rehabilitation medicine, neurology, orthopaedic surgery, tropical medicine, virology, trainees for these specialties, and rehabilitation therapy disciplines. So bring your colleagues from other specialties and your rehabilitation team members. It is an opportunity to meet with colleagues, to discuss treatment from different perspectives.
Polio survivors and care givers
The conference also welcomes polio survivors and their care givers, providing the opportunity to discuss between health care providers and polio survivors. There are dedicated sessions for polio survivors. We have planned sufficient time for lunch breaks and polio survivor sessions start later (at 9.00) and the program ends earlier (at 16.30) each day.
Translation
The conference language is English. The plenary sessions and the main polio survivor tracks will be translated to Dutch, French and German. Which sessions are translated is indicated in the program at the website.
Amsterdam
Remember that end of June is the perfect time to visit the city of Amsterdam with its beautiful canals and many museums.
We look forward to welcoming you in Amsterdam!
Kind regards,
